A few weeks ago, i sent a little poster advert out to a couple of nurseries in Loughborough to ask for families who would like a free photo session - so i can practice taking portraits. I had a couple of emails from families, and last Wednesday I went to photograph a lovely family in Loughborough who, 9 days earlier, had just had a baby boy! I was so excited, but also pretty nervous - this was the first time I would be taking photos FOR someone else, not just myself and I wanted them to be really really good. I've been photoshopping for the past day or two, and here is the first one of the bunch and one of my favourites so far...

I have a few things to babble about:
1. At the moment i'm working at a Secondary school. I have to get 4 weeks more experience with ages 11-14 in ICT. Compared to primary school, secondary school ICT is pretty dull. I realised that i prefer the variety of teaching different subjects at primary schools, and I prefer to be in a bright colourful classroom too!
2. Next week is half term which means i won't have to go into the school in the mornings like I have been doing, which equals lots more sleep - hooray!
3. Next week is also the massively exciting week in which 10 Americans are coming over for a bit of sightseeing in London, followed up by 4-5 days in Loughborough with the Loughborough Aces. Jason set up a partnership with the head coach from Endicott College in Massachusetts. Together they arranged a trip over here, and on the 30th May the Aces (plus American guests) will play a game against the Tamworth Phoenix! I don't think Jason could get much more excited, it seems like him and the Endicott head coach are kindred spirits, they spend a lot of time talking on facebook about the trip and how excited they both are!
4. I decided i'd like more photography experience, so i sent out an advert to two nurseries in Loughborough asking parents if they'd like a free photography session for themselves and their kids. A lady emailed me back last week saying she'd always wanted to have something like that done for her son Leo, but she'd never been able to afford it. So we're arranging to meet at the park at some point this week if the weather is nice. I'm excited!
5. I'm on the 4th Twilight book. The Twilight books are E.X.C.E.L.L.E.N.T!! I thought for quite a while that Harry Potter had ruined all other books for me (as it was so good) but along came twilight - and i don't want to put it down! I've actually been going to bed early to read it!
Err that is all for now!

This is my entry for the I ♥ Faces Blurb Book Contest. Rory started doing his 'surprised face' for us, then he started watching the tv but left his hands over his mouth! He has such a lovely face its hard to take a bad photo of him, but this is one of my favourites!
To see the other entries just click here -> www.iheartfaces.com
I am submitting this photo into the http://www.iheartfaces.com/ Blurb book photo contest. If chosen, I grant I ♥ Faces permission to use my photo in a printed version of a book for commercial use and possibly advertising of a photo book on both the Blurb and I ♥ Faces web sites.

I'm going to have a go at the i heart faces competition! This week's is 'Laughter' so i'm entering this photograph of Rory. His Mom and I took him to the park and he saw us playing on the zip wire - as we were shrieking he started to cry, but as soon as he realised we were having fun - and not in pain! - he started laughing!

I spent the afternoon watching films (Somethings gotta give, and Cheaper by the Dozen!) and photoshopping. I love taking photos of Rory, i'm not sure how much more photogenic he could get! Here are a few more Rory photos from Wednesday.
